The Happy Hacking Keyboard (HHKB) Professional 2 offers a unique layout that has spanned two decades, and spawned several permutations.  Its function (Fn) layer and dip switches make for a fully functional keyboard that is configurable.  This keyboard also features a 2-port USB hub on the back.  This Type-S model is factory silenced.  The upstroke is quietened via sound dampening rings.  This keyboard came with a blank set of keycaps (which I also have), and I change out the printed and blank keycaps on occasional.

Typing on this keyboard is a real joy, and the silenced upstroke enhances the luxurious Topre experience.  The one HHKB product design feature that is often frowned upon is the use of plastic internals instead of metal, as it feels less substantial in comparison to Realforce and Leopold Topre keyboards that use metal.  Personally, the plastic doesn’t bother me.  Less (weight) “is more” sometimes – and even more so when traveling.
